Ricky Gene Hall & The Goods (USA)

Ricky Gene Hall

Ricky Gene Hall, (lead vocals and guitar) was born in Kentucky, USA. Soon after, his father drove the infamous “Hillbilly Highway” moving Ricky’s family to Ohio. The family (Ricky’s Mom, Dad, and siblings) lived and worked in a junk yard. On Sundays his family would visit his Father’s guitar playing friend, Buster Parsons. At an impressionable 7 years of age, Buster began teaching Ricky to play the guitar, showing him chords, leads, and slide with a Zippo lighter or a pocket knife. Soon Ricky became interested in a multitude of other instruments including the piano, drums, and the harmonica to name a few. As the family grew annoyed to listening to this very young child trying to learn the correct notes he was asked to practice outside. Many a day was spent on an old sag-back mare traipsing through the woods trying to learn harmonica. As Ricky mastered these instruments and vocals, family and friends couldn’t get enough. By the young age of 10 years old Ricky formed his first band, a trio named “HKH”. Ricky and his trio began playing anywhere they could, picnics, school dances, dirt floor dives and even an occasional gas station. Over the years Ricky’s music has evolved from the dirt floor dives to sharing the concert stages with many music greats from Blues to Bluegrass. His unique musical background brings a mainstream perspective to the Blues. After forming “Ricky Gene Hall and The Goods”, Ricky has brought out his style of no-frills,straight forward approach to three piece Blues. Ricky has always had his own style both in his singing and guitar playing. Ricky’s third CD “Ricky Gene Hall and The Goods” embraces the roots on which his style was founded.

Rocky Evans

Rocky Evans, (drums and vocals) hails from the great state of Arkansas. Rocky has been a drummer laying down a great groove since his early teens. Over the years Rocky has toured with several national acts. In addition to Rocky’s drumming and singing, he is very proficient on guitar and piano. Rocky could be considered the “groove master” on the debut CD “Ricky Gene Hall and The Goods”.

Tom Martin

Tom Martin, (bass guitar and vocals) can certainly be considered a life long full time musician. At age 4 Tom started taking piano lessons. Throughout his teen years Tom continued playing the piano and expanded his instrument pallet with the addition of trumpet, tuba, cello and bass guitar. It could be said that Tom just has a thing for low sounds. Tom graduated from a music conservatory as a symphonic tuba player, but soon found out the gigs and fun was playing his bass guitar. Tom’s long standing love of the blues has brought him full circle with his contribution to the debut CD “Ricky Gene Hall and The Goods”. Tom Martin certainly has the goods, he is an accomplished musician composing, recording and arranging for film, TV, radio, as well as touring live for over two decades.
