Rhythm Bombs

For ten years now the Belgium-based Rhythm Bombs play their own special brand of spicy, hard-driving Blues, R’n’B, Swing and Jive. Fronted by the outstanding harmonicaplayer and singer Wouter Celis, the band was formed in 1998 and soon built itself a reputation for their enthusiastic live performances.

In 2002 the Rhythm Bombs released their debut-CD “ONE GEAR UP”. Consisting mostly of own material, the CD received great reviews and earned the “Bombs” even more fans.The same year the band headlined the first night of Belgiums biggest Bluesfestival, RTBF Peer.

 In 2004 Celis, drummer Marc Gijbels and bassplayer Patrick Indestege brought in Dutch guitar giant John ”Jay Vee” Verhaegh and “Big Hein” Koop from Germany on piano and organ, forming a truly international line-up and a melting pot of blues-styles and experiences.

In 2006 the “new” Bombs released “LIVE”, a short CD recorded at the Binkom Blues Festival, again with mostly self-penned material on it. The band appeared (again!) at the RTBF Festival (B), at Gevarenwinkel Festival (B), Jazz in Duketown (NL), Jazzfestival Breda (NL) and at the Big Rivers Festival Dordrecht (NL), to name a few ...

In 2008 the band was able to capture a full live gig at IJmuiden (NL) for the local radio station Bluestrain FM - and “BETTER BE READY” turned out to be a magic moment, a truely GREAT live recording of the “Bombs at their best”. Played for an enthusiastic audience, without any dubs or tricks, BETTER BE READY is the perfect way to celebrate 10 years of Rhythm Bombs on the road!
